Vision Event Photography

One of my good friends and clients, Rachel Johns of Greenstone Productions helped me land a gig with NOVEX Delivery Services to document the launch event of their new Electric Delivery Trucks in Vancouver.

What I love about these events, is that they go fast and have many aspects that need to be covered. I usually get a Shot List of key people or things that need to be captured. Great…I love a challenge to try to get everything on the list…and MORE.

Being competitive with myself, gives me that extra energy I need to perform miracles… like jumping up on a ledge to lean out for a shot…or speak to 11 people (and a superhero) and organize them against a truck for a group photo.

Photography Tip:
- Photographers need to always be assessing the events situation by looking around and knowing the schedule of key events happening.
- I was given basic instructions on documenting this event so needed to by on my toes looking at opportunities for candids or group photos
- Improvise and if you have an idea for a photo, just DO IT. Ask the subjects to move into position and take the group photo. Stand on a chair to get that extra angle.
